The donorflex Lottery seminar run has kicked off in Worcester and Haydock Park.

The opening session, at Worcester's St Richard's Hospice, saw seven organisations gather from the South-West and Midlands to take a first look at the new module.

They were followed by colleagues from another five charities, who gathered at the world famous Merseyside racecourse for their chance to meet the Care Data Systems team and see the Lottery system in action.

"The evidence is that the delegates went home with a firm idea of the potential that exists in a unified fundraising and lottery database," says Brian Todd, whose hand was on the Lottery module tiller for the opening events. "In common with our aim at every donorflex event, we also gained a huge amount from the informal insights that were swapped on the subject."

We're already discussing one-to-one follow-up dates with individual organisations to add more flesh to the bone and discuss timelines.

Twelve more organisations will have the same chance to explore the Lottery system at the final two dates of our seminar season:

  • South East: Tuesday, February 23, 2010, Princess Alice Hospice, West End Lane, Esher, Surrey KT10 8NA

  • North East: Thursday, March 4, 2010, St Michael's Hospice, Crimple House, Hornbeam Park Avenue, Harrogate HG2 8QL

All the seminars are running to the following timetable:

  • 1.00pm: Registration and light lunch

  • 1.30pm: The story so far / The unified database

  • 3.00pm: Refreshments

  • 3.15pm: How the Lottery module works / Q&A

  • 4.30pm Carriages

As word spreads about the opening seminar, we're still receiving enquiries about the South East and North East dates.
