The donorflex team made the short hop down the A441 to Redditch's Abbey Hotel for a couple of days immersed in all things air ambulance.
The Association of Air Ambulances Conference 2011 delivered the expected mix of insight, inspiration and information – as well as an opportunity for us to catch up with existing and prospective users, and to talk about our most favourite subject, ‘loving your data’.
If a keynote speech could be more impressive than ‘Positive’ Jack Russell’s highly motivating hour, we’d suggest it would be worthwhile driving the length of the country to catch it.
His exploration of human potential set a tone that the event’s other speakers – including our own Steve Mason – did well to emulate.
The fundraising-orientated workshops provided us with our greatest area of interest, as we strive to ensure that we’re up to date with the demands being placed on air ambulance trusts, but the clinical and operational streams delivered equally vital opportunities for delegates to listen to and discuss key issues.
Off-duty, the highlight was close-up magician Neil Henry’s amazing performance at the gala dinner. Stunning.
“The event was our second visit to the AAA conference, and we weren’t disappointed,” says donorflex managing director Brian Todd. “We came away with our insight freshened – and completely flummoxed by the magic. That was remarkable.”
