The following describes the client PC and server requirements to operate donorflex 8 and donorflex 9 on a Microsoft SQL Server platform. These should be seen as minimum requirements – better specifications will give better performance.
The protection of your valuable data is of primary importance to you. You need also to have in place a reliable and reproducible backup solution so that, in the event of problems, a valid set of data can be restored.

donorflex 8 / donorflex 9 SQL Server 2000/SQL Server 2005/SQL Server 2008
Workstation / Stand-alone installation
Operating System: Windows 2000 or Windows XP professional, Windows Vista. Always ensure that the latest service packs are applied
Processor: Pentium IV or equivalent or higher
Memory: 1GB minimum
Disk space: 500Mb minimum for the donorflex programs, Visual Dataflex runtime and Crystal XI report components
Display: We recommend XGA – that is, 1024 x 768 resolution
Database Server
Operating System: Windows 2008 Server, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2000 Server are supported. Install all relevant and recommended service packs. Note that, in general, SQL server should not be installed on a Domain controller, a Small Business Server or a peer-to-peer network because this can impinge on the performance of the server in providing database services as well as serving other functions to the rest of the network

Space requirements
It isn't possible to give exact space requirements, because each client's use of donorflex will be different.
All our clients have donor / supporter records. They record donations, Gift Aid and communications. Many take advantage of the facilities for managing committed giving.
