HMRC on cusp of changing Gift Aid claims process

In seven short weeks, and counting, HMRC will change the format of the information that’s acceptable to them for submissions of claims for Gift Aid tax repayments.

The effect of this is that the format currently used will no longer be accepted – meaning submissions that don’t conform to the new format will be rejected. No ifs, no buts.

Monday, April 6, is the key date to ink into your diary. However, after talking with HMRC, we’d recommend that you set your focus on being compliant by Thursday, April 2.

Before that happens, we’ll be issuing a donorflex 10.2 Service Pack that will conform to the new format and allow you to submit a claim. More news soon.

To eliminate any doubt, the service pack WON’T allow you to upgrade donorflex 10.1 to meet HMRC’s new requirements.

So, if you haven’t yet upgraded from 10.1, it’s imperative that you install donorflex 10.2 and then install the appropriate Service Pack before doing any submissions in the new tax year.

If you don’t, remember, your submissions will be rejected. Stay tuned.
