We're recruiting! Let's chat about a role at donorflex

August 9, 2022 - by Mark Higgitt

Back to news

We’re the extra person our clients’ teams

Our donorflex team has worked hard for almost 35 years to build a reputation for understanding what makes our clients’ income-generation teams tick.

It’s a task that will never be complete. From time to time, we’re tickled to hear just how much that’s appreciated....

So, when we recruit, we know exactly the special kind of person we want to meet. Here’s who we’re looking for now:

JOB TITLE

Trainee Client Support Analyst

ROLE

We’re adding a Client Support Analyst to our much-admired client services helpdesk team that delivers support to the UK charity sector clients who use our donorflex Customer Relationship Management software to run their vital income-generation and supporter-care operations.

The role demands clear and confident communication skills, whether that’s on the phone at the outset of a support request, or providing online training to users in conjunction with our client development experts – or anywhere in between on the client support journey.

The salary paid will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s experience. We also operate a company pension scheme.

PERSONAL QUALITIES

While we’re exclusively focused on supporting UK charities, you won’t need to have a charity background yourself – or a degree-level education – to fit in to our team.

We’re more focused on your qualities as an experienced and accomplished provider of customer service, whatever your age or sector background, because that’s what our reputation’s been built on over the past 35 years.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS (ESSENTIAL & DESIRABLE)

You’ll have the skills to provide assistance and resolve issues, which means that in-depth experience of using the MS Office suite – Word, Excel, and Outlook – is essential.

If you already have experience dealing with software support – or other technical fields – that will be an advantage, but we’ll provide the insights and product awareness for the right candidate, so it’s not an essential requirement if you don’t.

The role will also develop to include working with clients on their own sites, from time to time. So, a driving licence and a willingness to travel are also essential.

You’ll be required to liaise with other departments on client-related matters. Our successful candidate will also be required to pass a DBS validation or provide evidence of that already being in place.

WHO WE ARE

Our donorflex CRM software is continually developed to keep it relevant and responsive to the technical and social challenges faced by our clients. Our helpdesk and consultancy teams are the power behind that. We like to think that, in our world, nobody does it better.

The company was formed as a family concern in the mid-1980s, initially to meet the CRM system needs of the then fledgling Acorns Children’s Hospice project in Birmingham.

We’re proud that our Acorns partnership continues to this day. And we’re still a family company, with a team of 13.

The donorflex system’s success there led to it becoming the UK hospice sector’s leading fundraising and supporter-management system. However, it’s also used in other UK charities sectors like air ambulances, social welfare, hospitals, education, and medical research.

We’re continually developing our software to equip our clients to meet the challenges of the next five years and beyond.

HOW WE WORK

The Covid-19 pandemic required a rapid move to relying purely on remote support to our client base across the UK. As we emerge from that era, the balance between remote and office-based working has shifted.

For both the CDS team and our clients, the approach is now a mix of essential in-office gatherings – to maintain a healthy, face-to-face opportunity for spontaneous collaboration and formal meetings – blended with Teams and Zoom for remote communications during home-working periods.

Our Monday-Friday working is based on a 37.5-hour week, running from 9am to 5.15pm with a 45-minute lunchbreak.

WHAT NEXT?

If you think you’re the person we need on our team, drop us a line – with a brief covering letter and your CV – to jobs@donorflex.com.

If you sound like the colleague for us, the next stage will be an informal chat, to find out more about each other, and then – if we’re both still keen to progress – we’ll move on to an evaluation stage to introduce you to the kind of things we face in a support context every day, and see what you can bring to the mission here!
