As well as identifying deceased, gone-aways and subscribers to the preference services, other services include correcting bad addresses, finding new addresses for gone-aways, appending dates of birth and wealth and income indicators.
There’s no charge and no obligation should, you decide not to go ahead. But as the cost of identifying and removing the record of someone who has died is 30 pence, and for a gone-away 40 pence, even the most basic communication of a letter, envelope and second class stamp sent to the wrong address, will waste more than the cost of cleaning.
